The Council of 101

The Council of 101 was founded to further the cultural development and appreciation of the visual arts. For 40 years, the operations of the Council of 101 have been conducted by 101 active members (thus the reason for the name), associate members and sustaining members. These women contribute thousands of hours each year to the Orlando Museum of Art and have given the Museum more than $300,000 since 2000. In April of 2006, the Council of 101 presented the Museum with a check for $355,000.

The Council of 101 achieves this level of giving through its annual operations, which primarily include the Festival of Trees and the Antiques Show & Sale.

In addition to cash donations, the Council of 101 purchases museum-quality prints created by contemporary American artists and gifts them to the Orlando Museum of Art. Prints from this collection may be leased by local businesses through a program administered by the Council of 101.
